BADA was deeply saddened to hear recently of the very sad death of John Davis. A kind and considerate gentleman whose wise mentorship to many people across the air display community will be much missed. Following a distinguished career in the RAF, his contribution to UK and European air shows was both immense and lifelong, dating back to the 70’s in the early development of regulation, supervision and training. His foresight also led to the early establishment of ADAE and, the foundations of FDD training at Cranfield University. He then readily accepted with typical grace and understanding, the absorption of ADAE into the newly formed BADA as a founding father, serving us loyally up until the covid pandemic. Our sincere thoughts, prayers and wishes are offered to his wife Margaret and family
