The Civil Aviation Authority are working on the new edition of CAP 1724 Flying Display Standards, aiming to publish in the first quarter of 2022. This CAP was first published in February 2019 alongside CAP403 Flying Displays and Special Events to ensure that the process of display pilot evaluation is standardised as far as is practicable.

It provides a single point of access to guidance for Display Authorised pilots (DAs) and Display Authorisation Evaluators (DAEs) in areas such as preparation, standardisation and evaluations; and contains regulatory guidance material to enable those people to perform their tasks, discharge their responsibilities and maintain compliance with applicable aviation law.

The CAA have opened a consultation and welcome your comments by 15 February 2022. Access the consultation document and share your views online: CAP 1724 Flying Display Standards – Edition 4 Consultation
