It is with regret that Midair Squadron announces its withdrawal from airshow participation for the remainder of the display season. The overwhelming
success of last year has made it necessary to put a number of strategies into place in order to secure the aircrafts’ flying future; causing a more protracted than anticipated process.
Excitingly the Squadron has been working hard to have charitable trust status established. Once founded, this trust will manage the flying and maintenance
operation of these iconic British aircraft, safeguarding their participation on the display circuit for years to come.
Midair Squadron owner, Mike Davis, comments:
“The decision to withdraw our participation at airshows this season is not one we have made lightly. Nevertheless, in order to prevent disruption to organisers whilst the charitable status is established, it is a necessary, albeit sad, decision”.
It is anticipated the aircraft will fly towards the end of the year, with our intention being to make a return to the circuit in 2016.
Midair Squadron would like to thank the airshows and organisers who have kindly understood our position during this lengthy process. Additional thanks are extended to the public and supporters of the Midair Squadron who have shown keen interest and support, and passed on their messages of goodwill to our team. We are very grateful.
