New version of CAP632: Permit to fly ex-military aircraft

The Civil Aviation Authority has published the 6th edition of CAP632; Operation of ‘Permit-to-Fly’ ex-military aircraft on the UK register . This CAP specifies the operational requirements that an applicant for the issue of a Permit-to-Fly for an ex-military aircraft is required to meet. The maintenance requirements are set out in BCAR Chapters A8-23 and A8-25. Fully updated requirements and expanded guidance for operators of ex-military permit-to-fly aircraft. ‘Listening Squawks’ updated for new GA flying season

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released a new version of it’s popular ‘listening squawks’ flight card in time for the summer general aviation flying season. Listening squawk codes are allocated to most large airports and aerodromes to enable air traffic controllers to alert pilots if they look likely to infringe airspace. Pilots simply dial-in the code into their transponder and listen-in on the airport frequency when in the vicinity of that airport. The controller will then alert them if required.
