A total of 116 schools from across the country will be attending the airshow on Friday July 13, as part of a STEMworks initiative that will see Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths brought to life through interactive activities and cutting edge exhibits.

Sandra Keen, the Air Tattoo’s Techno Zone coordinator said: “RAF100’s mission is to commemorate 100 years of service, celebrate continued service and inspire the next generation and in particular, we hope that the Techno Zone and Innovation Trail will inspire the next generation of engineers.”In order to pursue a career in engineering and aviation, children need to be actively interested in the sciences before they choose their GCSEs.

“Hopefully the children’s visit to the airshow will fuel their passion and ignite their imagination.”
